New 7 Wonders of the World
It's been over two millennia since an official set of "Seven Wonders of the World" were defined, Astrodomes and other eighth wonders aside. Now, the New 7 Wonders campaign is asking the world's people to vote on a new list of wonders to be announced on 7 July 2007. The project aims to raise awareness and funds for heritage preservation. The Monkey knows his favorites: what about yours? 10 June 2007

China, Chile, and Japan* join the club!
Although absurdly infrequent updates to the Monkey's website in recent years would seem to indicate otherwise, the Monkey has actually been on the road quite a bit and there are a lot of great pictures on the way. For now, the Monkey is happy to launch pages for Japan*, Chile, and the People's Republic of China. Please enjoy! 20 May 2007

Cheese on Tour
If the fromage plays a significant role in your worldview, you probably need to check out this site. If queso is only a partial determinant in the way of you, you still probably need to check out this website. Kraftwerk: The Robots
The Monkey's updates have really been shite so far this year. That is not his way. The Monkey hopes this amazing video of some of his heroes (Kraftwerk) performing one of their best songs (The Robots) will help ameliorate the disturbances caused by the Monkey's busy diplomatic schedule. Fear not, he will be back in full effect within a short while... 1 Apr 2007

Monkey's Canada Pages
The Monkey is very pleased to announce that many of his photos from Canada have been uploaded to the website! Two years ago, the Monkey explored Québec's classic cities, and he's finally ready to share the photos with you. More Canada shots (from Nova Scotia) are on the way, too. 09/03/06.

Animals Asia Foundation
As an animal like you, the Monkey is a big supporter of organizations that promote the humane treatment of all animals. So, with his latest featured link, the Monkey is pleased to highlight the efforts of a great group of humans who are working in a number of culturally appropriate ways to sensitize people in Asia to the importance of animal welfare. 07/21/06.

Pablo the Monkey's Travel Blog
For those who are a bit fed up with the Monkey's lax updating of his own website (he's been a busy little fellow globe-trotting recently), have a look at Pablo the Monkey's Travel Blog. Pablo is another traveling sock monkey who's logged some considerable kilometers in his day. 06/16/06.

Don't get him wrong, the Monkey really likes Canada. Very soon he'll debut his pictures from this usually über-civilized country. But the Monkey is truly dismayed by a few Canadians' brutal butchering of the seal pups that spend a short time on the country's ice floes each year. Certainly a smart country like Canada can find less barbaric jobs for its people. 04/13/06.

http://www.robocup.org
As a global traveler, the Monkey is a big fan of the world's biggest sport: football. As such, he was a bit bemused by this site, which promotes the creation of a robot team capable of beating the human world champs by 2050. 02/05/06.

http://www.spudstravels.com
When it comes to travel, few people (or potatoes) can compare to Spud, the travelling Mr. Potato Head. The Monkey was duly impressed by Spud's international explorations, and he's sure you will be, too! 01/23/06.

http://casadodi.blog.tiscali.it
It's a new year and the Monkey has a new friend: a Dodo that lives in Sicily. While the Monkey's Italian is a bit rusty (he hasn't been since 1996!) he's sure impressed with the way this Dodo pops up in random places. 01/11/06.

http://tim0550.tripod.com/
First off, the Monkey wants to assure you that he is not behind the lax updates of late—it's all his webmaster's fault. In other news, the Monkey was recently contacted by another Sock Monkey! Tim the Sock Monkey's website features a blog, travel pics, movies, and family photos. Hmmm, thinks the Monkey, this Tim fellow may be on to something. 11/28/05.

http://geocities.com/tigerpuddy/

One of the Monkey's favorite things about hitting the road is the chance to encounter the great monuments of the world. Unfortunately, many monuments of world cultural history—both large and small—are endangered by neglect, looting, war, and other problems. The World Monuments Fund is helping to preserve our common heritage by safeguarding monuments for present and future generations, and the Monkey salutes them with this link. 7/5/05.

www.fruitsofthesea.demon.co.uk/sealand
During the Monkey's recent trip, updates to his website were suspended. But here is a fascinating site to relaunch the Monkey's (almost) weekly featured links. First, a riddle: What's the smallest country in Europe? Liechtenstein, perhaps? Or Andorra? San Marino, maybe? Nope, those behemoths can't come close to Europe's tiniest country: the Principality of Sealand. 6/5/05.

http://www.civicworldwide.org
Tragedies emerge on a daily basis from occupied Iraq. On 16 April, Marla Ruzicka and Faiz Ali Salim became the latest civilians to die in the carnage, victims of a Baghdad car bomb. Marla, a young U.S. woman, and Faiz, her Iraqi colleague, were unconventional activists, leading a precarious grassroots campaign to document civilian deaths amid the chaos and win compensation for surviving relatives. In their memory, and so that their efforts can continue, the Monkey urges you to consider a donation to their organization. 4/24/05.

http://www.classiccafes.co.uk/
The Monkey has been a little lax recently with the links, as he prepares for a major new trip. http://nsm1.nsm.iup.edu/rwinstea/metricclock.shtm
As a globetrotter, the Monkey is a big advocate of the metric system (it could also be that mathematics isn't the Monkey's strong suit, so he prefers multiples of ten to those of twelve or sixteen). Anyhow, here's something the Monkey's not so sure about: a metric clock. 3/6/05.

There is no time to waste. 12/29/04.

http://urinal.net
Sometimes, when the Monkey is posing for a photo during one of his trips, humans gather around him looking bemused and befuddled. What, the Monkey wonders on such occasions, is so odd about a small primate seeing new parts of the world? Especially when one considers how odd this week's featured link is. Anyone for a tour of the world's urinals? 12/21/04.
